So, now I’m supposed to write about something to do with kindness that impacted my life. It’s honestly a pretty stupid, lame story, but it challenged me, so here I go!

I am an extreme extrovert. Well, usually I am. I basically live off of seeing other people and socializing. If I had to tell you what my personality traits are, I’d immediately say that I am Sanguine and Chloric – Likes Being the Life of the Party and Tends to be Bossier than Others, and that’s putting it nicely. XD However, I can be an introvert when I want to be. I’ll just sit in my corner and watch people, not talking to them. Sure, if I come up with something to say, I do, but otherwise I’ll just sit there, laughing at everyone else’s stupid jokes, and not making my own. In these situations, it’s usually with people that I don’t feel very comfortable with, or not as at-home, as I would with people that would be a victim to my extrovert extremity. That said, you’ll be able to understand what I’m about to say more than if I hadn’t just said all of that.

My family and I were visiting churches about three years ago, trying to find a church that we liked and had the same beliefs as us. It took months, but when we did finally find one that we had gone to several times and started to ease into a little, my parents suggested that us kids go to the Sunday School. We finally agreed and went. Since I was older than my siblings, I had to transition from the younger kids class to the older, teenage one, alone. I was scared to death as I crossed the street and thanked God when my mom asked if I wanted her to walk me over. We walked together, then she watched as I went inside and faced my fears.

Let me say one more thing here: I am not one of those people that is paralyzed by fear and I never have been. There’s definitely been times where I’ve been scared to death about something, but I basically push away my fears and just do what I’m afraid of. It’s definitely not always the smartest thing and my dad keeps saying that I’m going to die young because of that, but that’s just how I am.

So that being said, I walked into the Sunday School class really scared, but willing myself to do it.

Honestly, I don’t remember much about the class itself, as I remember what happened after. Everybody was super nice and they introduced themselves to me, which was really nice.

When I went to go to the actual church service with everyone else, I started for where my family was. But I was stopped by a girl, named Blakeley, who asked if I wanted to sit with her and the rest of the kids.

Okay, this is where you roll your eyes and go, “Seriously? That’s ALL?!?!?!” But truly; that question DID mean a lot to me. It showed me that she ACTUALLY cared, that I wasn’t just some lame kid that had gone to their class. It made me SO happy and I felt so loved.

And that’s my story! I know it probably was lame and extremely long for the story that it was, but whatever, that’s what I thought I’d share, as it was the first thing that came to my mind. 🙂

Have an awesome day, everyone!!

Cheers!

-Keziah ❤

  1. Keziah, your story is real and at the heart of what we look for in family, and that is belonging. The act of inviting the new person may seem simple, but not always easy or natural for everyone. I love that you and your family were welcomed warmly in the Household of Faith; that’s as it should be. Thanks for sharing ♥

      1. Lol!!!! I know nothing about it…

If I can’t have a deep conversation, I usually spurt out silly stupid stuff lol!! I’m one extreme to another…

      2. 😂
Just research a ton about random stuff. My whole family is pretty big into football, so I can carry in a fairly decent conversation about that. And then random stuff in general works great. 😂

      3. I can talk about college football! But few people are endeavorous enough to talk about thought provoking topics like, “doesn’t Monday the 13th sound much more frightening than Friday the 13th”??

      4. 😂😂 See, that’s a problem there. Too many people can talk about easy, on-the-surface stuff, but they are too scared to talk about deep, thought provoking stuff.

      5. I can handle it, I just prefer to be an optimist and HOPE that they will be good enough to get national title….someday…hopefully…
Well, dishes call, so have a wonderful rest of the day. 🙂

  3. It’s not a lame story at all. I’ve been there. And having experienced that feeling where someone reaches out to you, you can remember what it felt like and pass it on and reach out to someone else someday who might be feeling out of place like you once were.

I have a related story, but I’m going to write about it eventually, and now that you’re following me, I don’t want to give away any spoilers. 🙂 So you know which one I’m talking about, it’s going to involve Greg getting upset late at night and running away.

      1. And it isn’t going to be my next post, just to let you know. The next one will be about Greg’s parents visiting. I have most of Greg’s first school year outlined, and it looks like I have this one coming in April 1995.
