WSU – Weekly Scripture Unearthings

Hey all!! Time for another verse.

The verse for this week comes from Matthew.

Matthew 11:6 (ESV):

And blessed is the one who is not offended by Me.”

-First of all, let’s look at a definition of the word “offend”

  • Cause to feel upset, annoyed, or resentful.

There are a LOT of people in this world that feel offended by Jesus. Maybe they feel resentful because of past relationships gone wrong that they feel like He is to blame for. So many people are mad at God for various reasons.

Then there’s the people that feel embarrassed by their religion. They feel that, if they go and tell other people about Jesus, they will get torn down and humiliated. And thus, they are ashamed of the Gospel.

My encouragement to you is that you will not be resentful to God. Don’t be annoyed with what He might be telling you, right now. But rather, thank Him for dying on the cross for you and rejoice in the salvation that you have in Him.

Did you like this? Tell me in the comments below; I love hearing from you! If you have a verse that you would like me to “unearth”, then post it in the comments below!

Cheers!

-Keziah ❤
