Masquerade Ball 2019!

Hey all!!

I had the privilege of getting to go to a masquerade ball this October! I had SO much fun, made SO many good memories, and I wanted to share with y’all how it went. 🙂

My escort was one of my very good friends, Micah, and some friends of our’s tagged along with their escorts. It was such fun!

I will say, it’s such a God-thing what happened with me getting to go to this ball, and you can read how, below.

StOrY tImE!

I had heard about the ball from a friend of mine, and knew immediately that I was interested in going. I told some other friends about it, and we all started to plan to go. We sent money in for tickets and started to figure out what masks to wear and what dresses to buy.

Well, it turned out that this ball was pretty well-known, and the ladies’ tickets were sold out just 3 days AFTER they had been opened up to the general public. I was one day late, and so was put on a waitlist. Just about everyone else I knew had gotten in, and I was disappointed that I might not end up being able to go.

I realized, however, that there was no point in my being grumpy about this, since no one could help it and my being upset was not going to help the situation one bit. Therefore, I told God that whatever He wanted, I’d try to be content with that, and that whoever went in my place, I hoped that she would have a lovely time. It was really a growing moment for me, spiritually.

Fast forward a couple of weeks later, at the beginning of October. I was just leaving my photography class at our homeschool co-op, when Micah’s older brother approached me. He held up his phone, letting me read some messages he and a friend had texted back and forth. His friend had said he had two extra women’s tickets for the ball, and he asked if we wanted them. I was so shocked. I thanked him, ran downstairs and grabbed one of my best friends, Riley. After exclaiming to her the news, she screamed and started jumping up and down. We went to tell others and we were all so happy.

What was crazy to me, was the way that God had planned these events out. I had given up almost all hope of being able to attend the ball. But, being the optimist I am, had planned a day where my friends and I could shop for dresses and masks, anyways. Well, God orchestrated all this so crazy well, and I found out that I was going to the ball the day before we went shopping!! It was so crazy at the time, and I still can’t get over how AWESOME our God is, for loving us, giving us opportunities we by NO MEANS deserve, and then orchestrating it just perfectly. We serve an awesome and loving God, people! ❤ ❤

What was even crazier, was we ended up driving all the way to the center where the ball was to be held and then realized that we had forgotten our masks and most of our tickets in the other van. The people were gracious, though, and with God’s help, we were able to still attend the ball. Two of the dads drove back to get our masks and tickets, and we were able to wear our masks the rest of the night.

My whole experience with this ball was pretty amazing and I saw God’s hand moving in it throughout the entire thing. ❤

Well that’s my little story for y’all. Now, here’s a ton of photos from the ball that I hope y’all will enjoy. 🙂
