We Were Made For Each Other

I was talking this over with a friend and I thought I’d share my thoughts with y’all…It’s been a little bit, since I last had a good ramble, on here.

Some of us say we don’t need help. We’re too independent and prideful to want it and we decide we can be all right, on our own. I’m very much one of those people. I prefer to do things on my own and I don’t like to feel burdensome to others.

But you know, we were made for each other. When God created Eve, He said: “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.” (Genesis 2:18b – ESV)

Even at the beginning of the world, God realized that it would be better for us humans, if we had another companion alongside us. Another person to talk with, to go through struggles alongside, another person to live life with…

Some of us don’t want to be around other people, or we think we are better off, on our own. But I think, very truly, each one of us desperately needs another companion or someone to talk to…Even if we deny it, we humans were meant to live with each other, not apart…

I guess what I’m trying to say here, is that we can’t keep acting all tough and like everything is okay…Because we were made for each other. We were made to be there, for one another.

In this day and age, we like to think that we can do everything on our own and our culture seems to be pushing more and more, separation among one another. But this isn’t right. We weren’t made to be separated and to be constantly fighting against each other. We were made to stick together and be for each other. To build one another up; not tear each other down.

So, today: I challenge you to not be so focused on your own needs and always being right. Instead, focus on the needs of others and how you can be for them, and not against them.

Cheers!
