I realized something recently, which I wanted to share.
One of my very favorite Bible verses is Psalms 118:14, which says:
The Lord is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation.”
I was thinking it over in my mind and wrote it down, to journal over. I started to pray, asking God that I would find joy and strength in Him. And then something came to my mind, which I had never really thought about, before. I began to pray that God would help me to base my life around HIM, and not around anything else.
And you know what? This is our absolute, biggest problem. The fact that we don’t base our life around God.
We spend so much time, caring about what people think, worrying about a job interview, or feeling lonely because we “have no one”. And yet, we’re completely forgetting about God. We’re not basing our life around Him.
Really, let’s think about this for a minute.
If we completely and entirely based our lives off God and what He wants us to do, then I’d like to think, we’d rarely sin at all. Because our focus would be SO much on Jesus. And when our focus is on Jesus, nothing else matters. Nobody cares what they look like, when they care about what Jesus views them as. Nobody stresses over their job interview, when they know that Jesus holds the future in His hands. Nobody feels lonely, when they know that Jesus is always with them.
So, this is what I want to encourage you to do (and I’m encouraging myself in this, too!! We’re in this together!!)…..
After this paragraph, I want you to stop reading. I want you to close your eyes and just focus on GOD. Focus on HIM, and all that He’s done for you. Because we can say all day that we love God and that we make time for Him….But do we really? Do we honestly love Him SO much, that we prioritize Him, over EVERYTHING ELSE? So, close your eyes. And focus.
I really hope that y’all did. I did, after I wrote that paragraph. It was an amazing experience, focusing on NOTHING, but God, and just praying…
Well, I just felt like God wanted me to write this, today. I hope it did some good, but if not, oh well. I just try to do what I feel like God wants me to.
Keep living for Jesus and work on basing your life around HIM! He’s the only one that matters.
Carpe Diem!

Wow….Keziah I really needed to read this today. It’s such an amazing reminder that I totally miss out on every day. I feel like I base my life on random stuff and then on Sunday at church I morph into the holy Christian “God Mode”. Thanks for the reminder today ❤

I’m so glad this helped you. I was initially going to publish this in February (I write ahead of myself and do scheduled posts), but the post I was going to do for this week wasn’t going to work, so I just switched this one for today. And I think that was a God thing. 🙂 ❤

Absolutely! I feel like yes we can post whenever we want but sometimes I just feel that nudge that I need to post this certain thing. Also it’s amazing when something annoying or stressful happens and then you see the real reason why God had it happen and it just opens your eyes and makes you grateful ❤️

Yesss!!! It’s so amazing. I think it’s just SO COOL how God uses really hard times in our lives, for really amazing things. It makes what we went through, so worth it and it just amazes me.

Wonderful Words, Keziah! I think we all need this reminder every minute of every day! It’s so very easy to be distracted and forget to focus on the eternal things not the earthly. Thank you for writing this! ❤

Thank you so much for the reminder. I feel like sometimes I base my life on what my family thinks, instead of focusing on God.

Thank you, Keziah! What a wonderful reminder. You are so right! We let life control us instead of seeking Him first. And we slip so easily. Thank you for allowing God to use you!

Thanks so much for posting this! I really needed to take the time to pray and think about whether I want to do what God wants for me … or shut him out. I really appreciate all the study you post for us to learn and consider from, and most importantly, spark change in each of our hearts and lives. You’re the best!🥰
