If you love deeply, you’re going to get hurt badly. But it’s still worth it. “C. S. Lewis
Here’s a little poem I wrote. I’m sorry if it sounds discouraging, but it’s true… Too often, we get caught up in the idea that love is easy… But it’s not. Not true love.
Sometimes it hurts to love.
The glamor of love unleashed,
The gleam of unending unity;
Adds to the false hope, soon to be dashed…
The hope and notion, that love was easy.
We long to be held,
We long to be desired.
And yet, we won’t always be…
People forget what once kindled their fire.
We will be loved for a little while,
Only to be put aside,
Forgotten; second to everything.
Love shall come another time, call the lies…
We act like we’re all right.
We smile and say we’re fine.
But inside, we’re breaking.
Outwardly, we’re crying.
They never said it would be easy.
Painless love wasn’t meant to be.
You’ll suffer pain till the end, remaining loyal;
When even through tears, you cannot see….
