I was reading in my Bible in Proverbs, and came across a verse which I hadn’t noticed, before.
"Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but He who is generous to the needy honors Him." - Proverbs 14:31
So, this is basically saying that when we don’t help those around us who so desperately need our help, we are literally insulting God and His creation.
And, when we are generous and give our time, energy and money to help others, we are honoring God.
Does this mean that we have to help in literally EVERY single thing?
Of course it doesn’t.
God never said He wanted us to work ourselves to death.
But as Christians, we are called to help others. And to sit around, buying things for ourselves and wasting time on social media and video games, isn’t what we are called to.
It’s not wrong for us to enjoy doing things and have fun. But that shouldn’t be the main goal in life.
We should be helping those around us and want to be helpful.
God has done SO much for us!!!
We should want to honor Him and His creation, loving everybody around us. ❤
Carpe Diem!
