Stop Living In Your Fear Fence

At our house, we have a horse and two cows. To keep them from escaping, we have an electric fence around the property. The electric fence literally only consists of two lines that are stretched along the land – one line on the bottom and one on the top, with a large, open gap in the middle.

I laugh at the thought of, if the animals really wanted to escape, they could just push themselves through the hole really fast, feel a little bit of pain, but end up being free.

Why don’t they do this?

Because they’re afraid.

The animals are afraid of being electrocuted, and therefore, they don’t try to push through the boundaries.

While it is rather humorous to me, it also reminds me a lot of how we are, as humans.

A lot of times, we build up our fears to be some big and awful thing. And they often can be. But that isn’t the point.

The point is, if we push through our fears – no matter HOW painful it may feel at first – we will be free from them and finally be able to live life to its fullest.

STOP limiting yourself because of fear.

You were meant to do amazing things and being afraid is NOT one of them.

Push through your fears, friend. No matter HOW hard it is or how painful it ends up being, you were never, EVER meant to live as a slave to fear.

You were meant to live free.

  1. Amen, my friend!!! 🔥🤗 Thank you so much for the analogy. Its so important to realize that pushing through your fears isn’t just an overused cliche – its still necessary today, right now, for each person out there who’s holding back.

  2. I love this.

There’s an Eagles song that’s at least as old as I am that became one of my favorites when I discovered classic rock in my teens. It has a line that says “So often times it happens that we live our lives in chains, and we never even know we have the key.” Your post reminded me of that.

(I looked it up… originally released in 1974, so yes, older than me, by a little bit)
