There’s a verse from the Bible that I reslly love, and I think we can get a LOT out of:
"Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity."
- 1 Timothy 4:12
We teenagers are looked down on SO much, by the culture.
We’re known for being the rebellious ones, who do reckless and thoughtless things, who are disrespectful, rude and extremely selfish. We’re basically looked down as being in the “worst time of our lives”.
Sure, we can be all those things. But that does NOT define us.
Here in 1st Timothy 4:12, we are called to set the example to those around us. The example of what good conduct, speech, faith and love is.
We are NOT called to blend in with everyone else, and fall in line with the ideas of what teenagers are like. We are called to stand out and set the example ABOVE what everyone else is doing.
So, friend.
I call you to stop blending in with everyone else, and start acting like God made you to act.
He doesn’t want you to act like everyone else. He wants YOU to act like YOU, and in doing so, honor Him and bring others to Him.
That, my friends..that is what we are called to.
Carpe Diem!
