New Happenings

I’m sure a lot of you have been wondering how I’ve been and what’s been going on…

Quite honestly, I feel as if I’ve fallen off the face of the blogger earth, leaving behind all my friends. And when I come back, it seems as if everyone left with me!

So, here I am. Striving to start up this little blog again. I haven’t written as much lately as I’d like to. I thought that blogging might be able to help with that.

Here’s a quick overview of my current life, for those of you that are interested! πŸ’—

I’m married and I LOVE it! We just moved AGAIN (I know they say you shouldn’t move within the first year of marriage, but who cares…😏) and we are absolutely loving our new home. ❀️

We have two Bible studies going that we lead! One for teens and one for 9-12 year olds. Both studies are so sweet and we’ve been able to develop such sweet connections with all the kids. πŸ’—

Micah and I are STILL teaching at our local, homeschool co-op! This year, I have been teaching a High School Drama class, while Micah has been doing a High School P.E. and Classical Music Class. We are planning on returning next year as well and teaching a cultural class and P.E. again!! πŸ’—

My bro, Ezekiel, and I dressed up as the “Ballet of the Unhatched Chicks” from Mussorgsky’s Pictures At An Exhibiton for Micah’s classical music class! 🀣😏

I’m working out every day!! It is sooo good for me and even though it’s hard, I’m loving it! ❀️

Me with the protein powder I was excited to get 🀣

I’ve been reading/listening to SO. MANY. BOOKS. It is CRAZY!! 😳 Y’all CANNOT tell me you don’t have time to read or listen to books…I get the reading part, but everybody has time to listen to books. And you can’t even tell me that you can’t listen to books because of finances…there’s this app called Libby that, once you get a library card…get this…you can listen to books for FREE!! Yep!

I’ll stop ranting now. 😁

Our little library in our new house ❀️

I’ve also seriously been getting into fashion. I used to just wear whatever, but my style has been evolving and adapting a TON, the past couple months. Mostly leaning towards the classy/vintage/SUPER sparkly side. If those go together. πŸ˜† Here’s some photos!

I THINK that’s it!!

I don’t want to get TOO in depth about my day-to-day stuff, because I’m going to be posting about my 2023 goals and I don’t want to ruin it with writing about them, here. πŸ’—

What have YOU been up to? Been reading anything book? I’m taking ANY and ALL recommendations!

Love you guys!! ❀️

  1. Looks like you’ve been busy!
I’ve fallen of the face of the blogging world, but I’ve been posting pretty regularly on YouTube, which has been fun. I forgot how much work goes into blogging and vlogging, but it is fun!

  2. I’m guilty, I haven’t been posting much. I take a planned break from DLTDGB every June and December in the fictional timeline, as I think you know, but my planned break for December 1997 has taken up two and a half months in real life. I’ve been busy with my job, but I also kind of got to a point where writing was feeling more like a stressful chore than something enjoyable. I’ll have time the next two weeks, so I’m hoping I’ll have new episodes ready again starting on the 19th. I might not stress about doing a new episode every week, though.

I did post twice, though: I wrote a new non-DLTDGB story set in the present day in the fictional DLTDGB georgraphy, and I dug up a poem I wrote in 2008.

Reading… I just finished James Michener’s Hawaii. It took me about four months, because it’s Michener so it’s over 1000 pages. I’m now reading a new nonfiction book, Restore My Soul by Janice McWilliams. It’s about self-care from a Christian perspective. I think it’s going to be one of those books I’ll have to sit with and think about for a while, not just read once and forget, if I really want to grow and improve from this.

    1. Haha I totally get that. Just getting back into it, helps and forcing yourself to start again. Once you start, I feel like it comes easier than you thought. You can do it!!

Ooh that sounds fascinating! Iove those kinds of books.

  3. Your new style is so cute! And I love your library (we have a small one in our house too.) What books have you’ve been reading/listening to?

Also, that’s so cool you guys are teaching! My dad was a former P.E teacher too lol.
Hope you both are having a blessed week!

Oh wow…a lot! Right now I’m listening to a book called “The Shallows: What The Internet Is Doing To Our Brains.”
      You reading anything??

      Aw that is awesome!!

      1. Mmm, that sounds interesting. Have you seen the Netflix documentary, The Social Dilemma? Kinda sounds like the book you mentioned.

My family and I have been going through the Mister Max Trilogy; we’re on the last book, and I just love all the characters lol.

      2. My brother used that book for his senior thesis. I love the library. One I listened to last summer on Hoopla was The Count of Monte Christo by Alaxandre Dumas- the unabridged edition. Although a tome it was absolutely incredible. Absolute artwork. The characters are weaved together in a stunning tapestry that explores aspects of human nature in depth defying ways.
